Yes the only fully private way to get Bitcoin is to meet and trade a stranger with a mask on, with no digital communication at any point, and ensure that no surveillance cameras were able to track your path after you leave and go home. I can say here that there is zero consequence for me in regards to sponsors if I were to say I like bip110. None of them have said a single thing about it to me, nor do they care about how I approach it. My decision to let people make up their own minds and not attempt to sway people's opinions either direction is entirely my own. I understand that this is not 100% air-tight, but comparatively to a traditional exchange, this is massively more private - especially if you use different sellers. Bonus if you coinjoin after as well.

The platform doesn't take any ID, nor does it see the transfer. The bank has no indication that the transfer has anything to do with Bitcoin. One person will see the etransfer to them and know it was for the Bitcoin they sold. Similar to if you bought in person from someone at a meetup that knew your name. There will be no online record of the sale.

Yeah it was pretty smooth. I was recording it during the beta rollout as there were limits to the size of orders, but it worked no prob. By the time it's released there should be no limits. Hopefully lots of people put up offers!

As a reminder, you can get sats without ID (which are the best kind of sats!) I've been messing around with @nprofile...ac87 now that they added lightning and it's pretty seamless. Definitely worth testing if anyone gets the chance. I'll have a tutorial for that when Sovereign Sessions launches this August, but it's basically the same flow as on-chain with some small diff...

Not a fan of spam, working every day to use Bitcoin as money and encourage others to do the same. I'll advocate for people running the implementation they choose after a healthy amount of DYOR. Will not be telling people what to choose though.

The demo I saw was pretty compelling, but will have to dive in more. IMO it would be a similar price point for a multisig with other hardware, but setup is quicker and there's no need for a config file, since the frost protocol is not multisig but has similar qualities. Drawbacks right now are compatibility. You're tied to one device vendor and app, though there is a recovery protocol that can be swept though something like Sparrow.

I've got a Linux machine to experiment with, but my main work computer for media creation is a Mac. Was just wondering if it's possible to use something like docker to install carefully without handing over access to the whole system.

What's a reasonably secure way to use Hermes? Does it have to be on a segregated machine, or is there a good way to sandbox it on your main computer? How difficult is it to give the agent selective access and have it still be useful?
